The Conservative Urinary Incontinence Treatment

By Olivia Cross

Urinary incontinence is an embarrassing problem that few people are at liberty to talk of. Earlier, urinary incontinence was thought to affect the old but nowadays, it affecting people across both genders and age groups. However, over 75% of all those seeking urinary incontinence treatment are the womenfolk.

Depending on the severity and type of incontinence, doctors could prescribe drugs, perform surgeries, and suggest some exercises to strengthen pelvic floor muscles or train the bladder. Here are some of non- surgical urinary incontinence treatments available. It is good to note if incontinence is caused by another ailment, you would receive treatment for the condition before or along with the incontinence treatment. Such conditions include fistula (a tear in the uterus caused by prolonged childbirth) and prostrate enlargement in men.

Certain lifestyle behaviors are thought to aggravate the problem. Changes in these habits may help without any intervention by medical procedures. The patient may be advised to take less fluid each day so as to reduce the amount of urine held at the bladder.

You may also be asked to reduce caffeine intake as it increases the amount of urine that would be produced by your body. Caffeine can found in many sports energy drinks, coffee and cola drinks. Obesity can also affect the effectiveness of your bladder; losing weight could help alleviate the problem.

There are muscles at the pelvic area that control the passage of urine. They are found around the urethra and the bladder and keep the passage shut until one is ready to urinate. If they get weak or some condition damages them, they may be strengthened by a therapy. The therapy involves physical contraction of the muscles by a patient. It is performed at least thrice a day with at least eight contractions every session. The progress of patient is monitored by the doctor and program adjusted accordingly.

If the exercise above does not improve your situation, electrical stimulation may be beneficial. The procedure is done by inserting a small probe in the vagina for women and anus for men. The device measures and lets out small pulses of currents in the muscles to help them contract. The procedure works well with other muscle exercises. Many find it a bit unpleasant but it has good results.

If you are diagnosed with urge incontinence, bladder training may be the very first treatment that you would encounter. This may be offered together with pelvic training above. This training involves techniques to help increase the length of time between when you felt the urge to urinate and the actual time you pass the urine. The training takes about a month and half.

For women with weak pelvic floor muscles and are unable to exercise them, vaginal cones could be of assistance. These are small weights that are inserted into vagina to help in pelvic floor muscle training. You are meant to hold the weights in place with your pelvic muscles. The weights come in different weights but, you start with the lightest to the heaviest. This kind of treatment is very helpful for women that suffer from stress incontinence.

Why Choose Organic Non GMO Vitamins

By Olivia Cross

The dietary supplement industry brings in millions of dollars every year. As the demand for natural health products grows, more companies enter the field. Consumers need to choose clean, effective products or they will waste their money and, in some cases, endanger their health. Choosing organic non GMO vitamins over simply natural or synthetic ones is a good way to get the best products on the market.

An organic certification is more than a claim which may be unverified. Manufacturers of certified products must comply with stringent standards set by the government. In fact, many of the best companies have even higher internal standards of operation that exceed governmental quality controls. The raw materials of a certified product will come from organically-certified foods, never from a laboratory or an unknown source. No unlisted fillers will be included in the formula, which is not true for all brands on the market. Independent testing has shown a wide disparity in quality from brand to brand.

Among other things, the organic certification guarantees that there are no genetically modified raw materials in the product. Most manufacturers also want to make sure consumers know that their products are GMO-free, so they will put this information on the label. There is an industry-approved symbol for GMO-free products that consumers are beginning to recognize.

Unfortunately, in America the natural and all-natural designation no longer is an assurance of a product free from genetically modified ingredients. Large multinational corporations have spent millions to make sure this kind of questionable ingredient is legally allowed. Much of Europe has banned the genetic alteration of foods.

The safety of genetically modified foods has not been established. Although people and animals won't die from eating them, researchers fear that long-term use may cause problems and endanger the health of future generations. The results of early studies are causing concern among many health experts.

This delayed reaction was observed in bees exposed to crops treated with systemic pesticides. Adult bees feeding on such plants did not die, so manufacturers claimed them to be safe. However, the third generation of bees used to pollinate crops every year died out in what was called the 'empty hive mystery', and many commercial beekeepers lost their livelihoods. This led countries like France to ban the use of systemic pesticides. Their bee populations are recovering.

People who value truly natural products can help protect the industry by refusing to spend money on inferior imitations and formulas that cut corners on quality. Choosing organically-certified and GMO-free products protects their health while sending the message that consumers want the best supplements they can get. This support can also help reputable manufacturers keep their prices down.

These days, when fewer can grow their own food or find all they need from local organic farmers, consumers buy vitamins to improve their health and fill gaps in their diets. They want pure, truly natural products they can depend on and that are worth the purchase price. For the assurance of purity and quality, look for the organic and GMO-free labels on all supplements.
