The Human Heart, Potentially Helped By Extra Virgin Olive Oil

By Michael Robert Peterson

If you're looking at the ways in which one's heart can be affected, there are many talking points to consider. You have to keep in mind that the human heart can be helped, or hindered, based on various actions related to physical activity, dieting, and the like. However, did you know that the addition of extra virgin olive oil may provide the boost that your heart needs? If you'd like to know why this might be the case, there are quite a few ideas to consider.

According to an article on TIME, it seems as though extra virgin olive oil may prove useful for the purpose of helping a heart that isn't in the best of shape. Circulation illustrated research that went into detail about the condition known as heart failure. For those who do not know, heart failure can be led up to by the difficulty of blood moving throughout the body, which is facilitated by the heart itself. A negative development, which is noted by companies such as Unaprol, is the heart actually growing beyond its comfortable size.

While rats were being studied, TIME detailed that their hearts were directly given two different types of fat. As the details illustrated, oleate - one of the fats in question - is usually associated with oils along the lines of canola and olive. On the other side of the coin, palmitate has been associated with animal products, in addition to dairy. These types of fat were brought into the study as well, the results of said study being some of the most intriguing.

It's been said that the hearts given the substance of palmitate were ones that ultimately looked like failing hearts. However, there were far more positive readings to be had from the hearts which were treated to oleate, since the product in question was healthier. It's been said that the fat content of those hearts were restored, which allowed them to function to the levels expected of them. With greater metabolic levels and all, the hearts seemed to favor oleate more.

No one can argue with the fact that extra virgin olive oil is a product which can offer quite the boost. In fact, I believe it to be one of the best products which houses various elements related to health, whether it's a matter of antioxidants, the "good" fats, or what have you. Each of these are able to play their part in the creation of a stronger body overall. The same can be said for the heart as well, which only speaks greater volumes about the benefits associated with this oil.
