Why You Should Include Bananas In Your Lunch

We have all heard the saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."
Although eating an apple every day is beneficial, what we should really be doing is eating a banana on most days.
There are many reasons why you should eat bananas. We will be looking at a few of the many benefits so that you will understand why you should slip a banana or two into your lunch bag.
What Are The Benefits?
1. First off, bananas are a very good source of energy. They are full of vitamins and minerals that can give you enough energy to do anything! OK, maybe not anything but you can do a lot with the energy you get from a banana.
It is great to get a boost of energy in the middle of the day when you feel like going home to take a nap. It is better to have a banana instead of a caffeinated beverage because they give you energy that lasts longer, feels better and doesn't come with a crash at the end.
2. Bananas are chuck full of potassium. This is one of the best benefits that come from eating a banana. Potassium is great because it promotes top-notch performance. How does it do that? When you eat potassium rich foods, it helps oxygen get delivered to the brain by the circulatory system. When you get more oxygen to your brain, you think clearer. Another added benefit to this is bananas help reduce blood pressure because of how they improve circulatory health.
3. They taste good! This is an awesome benefit, and many peoples favorite. Bananas are sweet, soft and plain out tasty. It can be hard for many to eat healthy at times because many of the foods that benefit your health the most don't exactly agree with your taste buds. Fortunately, bananas are very healthy for you and are great tasting at the same time.
4. Bananas are a quick and easy addition to your lunch. Many of us do not have time in the morning to pack a well thought out lunch that involves preparation. Bananas are great for this because you just have to have the bananas where you can see them, grab one, slip it in your lunch bag, and you are good to go.
5. Your brain becomes empowered. This benefit goes along with potassium. When you eat bananas on a regular basis, it is easier to stay focused and you are able to think harder.
A study was taken where a certain group of students would add bananas to their meals throughout the day. The other group just ate their normal meals without bananas. They concluded, at the end of the study, that the students who ate the bananas became more alert in their classes then the students who didn't.
It takes very little time to add a banana to your lunch. There are many more benefits than the ones discussed in this article, so what are you waiting for?
